Frequently Asked Questions
Understanding the brokerage and M&A advisory process empowers you to make confident decisions. Have a specific question? Our Warsaw office is always available.
How does AWBE protect my confidentiality when selling?
Confidentiality is our primary principle. We never disclose your company name, exact location, or identifiable operations publicly. Prospective buyers must sign a binding Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and demonstrate financial ability before receiving a Confidential Information Memorandum.
How is a privately held business valued?
Rather than using simplistic revenue rules of thumb, we determine Seller’s Discretionary Earnings (SDE) or adjusted EBITDA by adding back discretionary owner compensation, one-time perks, and non-recurring expenses. We then evaluate industry transaction multiples, growth trends, customer concentration, and facility considerations.
Where is AWBE located?
AWBE operates solely from our Warsaw, Indiana office at 2176 N. Biomet Drive, Suite 3, Warsaw, IN 46582. We serve privately held business owners across Northern Indiana and surrounding regions. (Note: our former Fort Wayne office is permanently closed).
How long does it take to sell a business?
On average, a typical privately held business transaction takes 6 to 12 months from engagement through closing. Timing depends on industry conditions, historical financial clarity, pricing realism, and buyer financing approvals.
Why do buyers have to register and sign an NDA?
Sellers entrust us with proprietary customer, employee, and financial records. Pre-screening acquirers protects the seller's ongoing business value from competitors, casual browsers, or unqualified individuals.
